The Future of Big Bikes in Thailand
When I'm forced to think about the future of big bikes in Thailand. Are the sales executives really trained to handle clients for these big bikes? Do they really understand the technology marvels behind these machines? Most importantly, have they ever ridden these big bikes to understand why they are termed as Superbikes, Supersport, Enduro or Motard?
The same goes for the backend support, i.e., the workshops. Even with my own performance bikes, we get lots of questions from people who seem to be unhappy even with the authorized service stations of various manufacturers. According to my personal experience too, seldom do the workshop managers or the mechanics take interest in the customer's grievances. Half the complaints are not sorted out and f you still stand firm on your point, you are told that the motorbike is running perfectly fine and it is probably a mental block that you have... Brilliant!
This is where I am yet again forced to think about the case with big bike owners in Thailand. Are they really satisfied with after sales support? Your guess is as good as mine.
Of course, due to my line of work, I got to hear both sides of the story and receive appreciation as well as criticism. It's not that I don't want to see big bikes selling in Thailand. The point I would try to make is that, is the Thai market really ready for the big bikes in the near future.
The good part, is that for most big bikes in the Thai showrooms you can find easily all the information you need on the Internet.
